Yes. The Thumba machine is a "Chaff Cutter Cum Pulverizer" — it easily disintegrates maize, wheat, grams, groundnuts and other cereals in addition to cutting green and dry fodder. The high-speed blade design makes it effective for both soft and hard materials.
Thumba chaff cutter blades are made from hardened ferrous alloy and need sharpening only once every 6 months under normal use. Conventional chaff cutter blades require sharpening every week, making Thumba's blades a significant maintenance cost saving.
The 1.5HP model cleans a 20-animal shed in 7 minutes using only 400 litres of water. The 2HP model handles 50-animal sheds in 10 minutes. For very large farms (100–1,000 animals), multiple pumps can run simultaneously.
Both models run on single-phase 220V AC — the standard domestic supply available across all of India. No three-phase connection is needed. The 1.5HP model draws less than 1.5 kW and is compatible with standard household wiring.
Yes. The pump kit includes two nozzles: a high-pressure floor wash nozzle and a gentle animal wash shower nozzle. The shower nozzle is mild enough for comfortable animal bathing and the massage effect has been found to improve milk yield in dairy cattle.
A standard 1,000-litre water tank (concrete or plastic) is sufficient for both models. The submersible pump sits inside the tank and is connected to the flexible high-pressure hose via quick-release fittings. For sheds longer than 100 feet, a permanent PVC main line with multiple quick-release outlets can be installed.
