7.5 HP Chaff Cutter cum Pulverizer · 3 Tons / Hour · Since 2016 · 60 Animal Cow Farm · Godhra, Gujarat
He waited 45 days for the machine. The blades lasted three years.
In 2016 a customer from Godhra, Gujarat came to us through our website, looking for a high output, durable chaff cutter with pulverizing facility for his 60-animal cow farm. Durability was the word he used, and it turned out to be the right thing to have asked about.
He selected our 7.5 HP high speed chaff cutter with pulverizer, rated at 3 tons per hour.
At that time our 5 HP and 7.5 HP chaff cutters required 45 days of advance booking — demand for those two sizes was running ahead of what we could build. He accepted the wait and booked. After despatch from Palani, the machine reached Godhra within 14 days.
He was very happy with the machine's performance from the start. But the part of this story worth telling came three years later.
After 3 years of daily use he contacted us for his first set of replacement blades — not because anything had failed, but because the original set had finally worn down. He told us he was very impressed with our cutting blade quality, and described the routine that got him there.
Those are two different jobs on two different schedules, and the distinction is what most owners miss. Rotating the edge costs nothing — it simply presents a fresh cutting face — and doing it twice a year is why his blades reached three years instead of wearing out in one. Grinding restores sharpness properly, and each blade will take three grinds across its life before it genuinely needs replacing.
This is why we use high quality bearings and hardened ferrous alloy cutting blades rather than cheaper steel. A blade that can be rotated and reground is a consumable you buy every few years; a soft blade is one you buy every season.

The same six-month edge routine shows up on Mr. Shanmugam's 5 HP machine at Palladam, running since 2008. The same 7.5 HP model also serves Achoos Dairy's silage business in Kerala and a 125-cow gaushala at Vrindavan, Mathura.
On the 60-cow dairy at Godhra, Gujarat the original blade set ran for 3 years before any replacement was needed, and then only because of normal wear. Blade life depends on daily tonnage and how disciplined the maintenance is — rotating the edges on schedule is what stretches a set from months into years.
Two separate jobs, on two different schedules. Rotate the cutting edges once every 6 months, and grind the edges once a year. Our Godhra customer follows exactly this routine and got 3 years out of his first blade set. Rotating costs nothing and is what most owners skip — which is why their blades wear out early.
Three times within its lifespan. Each regrind restores the cutting sharpness, so with a yearly grind and six-monthly edge rotation a single set of hardened ferrous alloy blades keeps working for years before a replacement set is needed.
